We are delighted to welcome Dr Marie Ishida to the OPTIMAL Centre of Research Excellence as our Research Fellow focusing on Kawasaki Disease.

Supported by the Kawasaki Disease Foundation Australia, Marie's fellowship will focus on health economics, epidemiology, and applied econometrics, helping generate evidence to inform policy and improve health outcomes.

Marie brings a wealth of expertise in global health and health policy research and recently completed her PhD in Public Health at the University of Melbourne. Before pursuing a career in research, she worked as a nurse, bringing valuable clinical experience that helps inform her work.
